Concierto/ The concert

Y al final... ¡todo salió a pedir de boca! Estamos muy contentos con el resultado.

Ha sido una tarde muy divertida aunque algo inquieta, nos ha gustado mucho esta experiencia y volveríamos a repetirla muchísimas veces más. Tanto tiempo organizando mereció la pena.

Ahora... ¡a llevar los beneficios a Cáritas!

And in the end ... everything went without a hitch! We are very happy with the result.

It was a funny evening though somewhat restless, we have really enjoyed this experience and of course we would repeat many times. So much time organizing....was worth it.

Now ... let's take the benefits to Caritas!

Día previo al concierto / Day before the concert

Todos estamos muy nerviosos y ultimando detalles, las canciones que tocarán los grupos, haciendo las últimas difusiones y esperando que todo salga bien. Por la tarde algunos miembros del grupo fueron a repartir folletos a la zona vieja de nuestra ciudad, ya que iba a empezar la reconquista y había mucha gente, teníamos que aprovechar.

We are all very nervous and finalizing details, the songs that the groups will sing, making the latest broadcasts and hoping that everything goes well.

In the afternoon some members of the group were to leafleting to the old part of our city, because it was going to begin the reconquest and there were many people, we had to take advantage.

Surge un problema...pero con solución. Además, ¡salimos en el periódico! / A problem arises ... but with solution. Also, we are in the newspaper!

Tuvimos alguna que otra mala noticia: uno de los artistas del concierto no podía asistir, XV. Además, hubo un pequeño problema con la hora del concierto.

Nos asustamos un poco pero enseguida nos pusimos en marcha para solucionar los problemas, hablamos con el resto de músicos y acordamos una nueva división del tiempo y en cuanto a la hora del concierto supuso cambiar todos los carteles y también dar a conocer el cambio en las redes sociales para que no hubiese equivocaciones; pero al final...¡nada que no se pudiera solucionar con un buena trabajo en equipo!

Para compensar estos deslices, nos enteramos de que en el periódico Atlántico, de nuestra ciudad, habían puesto un pequeño artículo en el que se hablaba de nuestro concierto, noticia que devolvió los ánimos al grupo, ya que eso nos ayudó a la difusión de la iniciativa.

Además contamos con la ayuda de dos compañeras, Carlota y Andrea, que a pesar de no formar parte de Nexus, se ofrecieron a pegar carteles por la ciudad para que todo el mundo los viera y asistiese al concierto.

We had some other bad news: one of the artists of the concert could not attend, XV. In addition, there was a small problem with the hour of the concert.

We scared a little but soon got underway to solve the problems, talk with other musicians and agreed a new division of the time, and related with the hour of the concert we had to change all posters and also publicize the change in social networks to don´t have any mistakes; but in the end... nothing that it couldn´t be resolved with a good teamwork!

To compensate these bad news, we saw that in the Atlantic newspaper, had put a small article which spoke of our concert, news that returned the spirits to the group, since that helped the spread of the initiative.

We also have the help of two classmates, Carlota and Andrea, who despite not being part of Nexus, volunteered to paste posters around our town, so everyone saw them and soonest will go to the concert.

Ayer, 19 de marzo, dos componentes de nuestro grupo, Aldara y Luis, tras la petición de mostrar nuestro proyecto a la dirección del colegio, realizaron una presentación sobre este. Utilizaron como apoyo esta presentación que incluye los distintos puntos a tener en cuenta sobre el proyecto. Salieron muy contentos de ella tras la satisfacción que provocó en el equipo directivo nuestro proyecto. Todo lo que recibimos fueron mensajes de ánimo. Aparte de la presentación, entregamos unos cuantos dossieres informativos, no tantos como personas son, por ahorrar folios.

Yesterday, 19th of March, two of us, Aldara and Luis, after the wish to show our project to the school management, did a presentation about it.

They used like support this presentation that includes the different subjects to note about the project. Aldara and Luis finished the meeting very happy because of the satisfaction that the presentation produced in the school management. All that we received were messages of encouragement. Apart from the presentation, we handed out a few dossiers, not as many as people are, to save paper.

Reunión con los artistas. / Meeting with the artists.

Algunos miembros de nuestro equipo se ocuparon de hablar con los grupos explicándoles nuestras ideas, quiénes somos, por qué hacemos todo esto... No todos aceptaron, pero sí los suficientes, lo que nos ayudó a zanjar el tema de los artistas. Una vez acordado todo con el local se formó un grupo de Whatsapp con un miembro de cada grupo y dos de Nexus, para comunicar todas la novedades con rapidez. Como queríamos desperdiciar el menor tiempo posible en el concierto, quedamos con los grupos para fomentar que compartieran instrumentos, como la batería, para que los cambios de grupo fueran más fluidos. En esa reunión también acordamos todas las cosas que tenían que llevar ellos y les repartimos carteles. Por último hicimos una foto con algún miembro de cada grupo para colgar en redes sociales y publicitar el evento. Hubo un buen ambiente y sin problemas. Parece que todo va a salir bien. ¡Estamos ansiosos!

Some members of our team coped with talk to the artists explaining our ideas, who we are, why do all of this... Not everyone agreed, but enough, which helped us to settle the issue of artists. Once agreed everything with the local, a Whatsapp group was formed with a member of each group and two of Nexus, to communicate all the news quickly. As we wanted to waste the shortest possible time at the concert, we met with groups to encourage them to share instruments, such as the battery, so the group changes were more fluid. At that meeting we also agreed all the things that they have to carry to the concert and give them posters. Finally we made a photo to each group member to post on social networks and advertise the event. There was a good atmosphere and without any problems. It seems that everything will turn out well. We are very nervous!

En este aspecto el colegio nos ayudó bastante ya que nos ofreció imprimirnos todo si era en blanco y negro y DIN A4. Nosotros tendríamos solo que cortar las entradas, numerarlas, sellarlas y hacer los tacos, entre todos sería más fácil. Para los carteles grandes y en color nos movimos por distintas imprentas de Vigo buscando que nos hicieran el mejor precio explicándoles para qué era.

In this aspect the college helped us a lot, it offered us to print us all if it was in black and white DIN A4. We have only to cut entries, number them, seal them and make tacos, doing it together would be easier. For large and color posters we moved by different printers of Vigo looking which make us the best price explaining for that it was.

Cambio de horario del concierto/ Time change of the concert

Ahora que ya lo teníamos todo preparado, resultó imposible realizar el concierto de 21 a 23h del día 28 de Marzo, como habíamos acordado, con motivo de otro evento que tenía lugar en el local a esa hora. Nos fastidió bastante por los carteles, entradas y porque ya habíamos empezado la difusión. Después de hablarlo entre nosotros, decidimos que tenía que ser ese día, y que había dos opciones: o cambiar la hora, o cambiar el local. Esta situación nos estresó bastante, estamos en semana de exámenes y no nos da tiempo a todo. Hablamos con los grupos pidiéndoles opinión, el otro local que podíamos conseguir con tan poca antelación, era el auditorio del ayuntamiento y ellos prefirieron cambiar de hora. Volvimos a hablar con el local y acordamos que el concierto sería a las siete. A toda prisa cambiamos los carteles y el resto de las cosas, y lo mandamos a imprimir, a la vez que avisábamos a todo el mundo del cambio. Esperemos que todo salga bien.

Once that we had all ready for the concert, he person in charge of El Ensanche, told us that it would be impossible to make the concert from 9 p.m to 11 p.m in March the 28th, because of another event that wolud take place at that time in El Ensanche. This fact was a big disappointment for us, because whe had already made the posters and the tickets, and we had also begun to announce the concert. After we talk about it, we decided that the concert must be the 28th of March, so we had two possible options: The first one was to change the hour of the concert,and the second one was to change the local. We are in the examnsweek and do not have time for anything. We talked with groups asking opinion, another local who could get on short notice, was the Town Hall auditorium but they preferred to change the time. We talked with local and agreed that the concert would be at seven. We changed the posters and other things, and sent it to print, while we warned everyone of the changes. Hopefully everything goes well.
